Anita Dumins has been a potter at the Galleria for over 20 years. She has developed a unique style and glazing technique. Her 2 main lines of pottery are called "Prairie Wave" and "canadaleaf". Anita and her husband, Valdis Vilks, pot out of their studio under the name of Anita's Studio Inc. and have developed these 2 lines that come in a variety of colours. Subtle shades of pink and green, or the vibrant blues and purple glazes are applied to the pottery to depict the flowing prairie landscape. The maple leaf design on the "canadaleaf" pattern, comes in shades of blues, or the more intense yellows, oranges and greens that are so typical of the Canadian maple leaf. A full range of serving pieces and dinnerware are available in both designs. Anita also does a solid colour glaze on her pottery. This is quite a new glaze and comes in such shades as "pumpkin", "sage" and "cobalt".
