Bob
established Rippon Pottery Studio in 1979 and has found the process of pottery
making to be a source of inspiration and a lifelong challenge. While completing
his Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1974, Bob took his first pottery course
and immediately realized that he had found a way to combine his interest in
earth science with his creative side. Bob feels that form is pivotal and he
strives to create pieces that have intrinsic beauty and life. He loves the
challenge of working in partnership with earth and fire to create works that are
often surprising as well as humbling. His current special interest in wood fired
work reflects an enduring commitment to finding ways to express his appreciation
of the power and magic of nature, using the medium of clay.

Bob
currently works in 2 glaze colours. The deep rich brown with accents of black
and tan easily fit into many decors.
The
dusty blue glaze is a bit bolder. The high glossy finish on both makes these 2
lines very functional and practical for ever day use.
